On The Plus Side: So Long, Summer (Rascal Honey)

Each year, my friends and I make an effort to make the trip out to Coney Island to unwind, unplug, and bask in the sun. This summer we couldn’t make it out until the heat had already started to fade, like colors left too long in direct sunlight. It feels like the entire boardwalk has been frozen in time, with restaurants, bars, and fried food that is no longer socially acceptable to consume.

Airbrush tattoos, fortune teller readings and a spin (or two) around the Wonder Wheel are all required activities, and no trip is complete without indulging in cotton candy, lemonade, and hot dogs. It’s the place we go to escape it all and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
