Took a two-day trip to New York earlier this week for work, decided to skip NYFW this season, and really enjoyed some low-key time in the city not having to worry about anything major. It definitely felt refreshing.
I packed rather light just carrying a small luggage, but still managed to fit 12 looks and 5 pairs of shoes with tons of gorgeous gold jewelry! I was pretty impressed myself actually that I was able to pack that much in such a small suitcase. Since it was fashion week, I wanted to pack items that I would have worn during shows just because its the time of year where you get to dress up a little more and experiment with your style. I’ve learned from attending past seasons that 1) you HAVE to pack sneakers/flats and 2) accessories are everything.
All the running around you do in New York is definitely no joke. From running to meetings, to hailing a cab, to walking blocks and blocks and blocks, your poor feet suffer. For me, I feel the most comfortable and coolest in sneakers so I made sure to pack my favorite pair of the moment especially because I knew how much walking and running around I would be doing in NYC. For accessories, even if your outfit is easy-breezy, accessories can definitely elevate your look. No matter where I go actually, I always pack tons of accessories/jewelry- dainty rings, statement necklaces, chandelier earrings, stacked bracelets. I try to stick to more classic pieces in gold because it feels more “me” plus gold is so versatile that it makes it easy to wear everyday. It’s always a conversion starter because people are drawn to nice jewelry.
I was happy and excited I got to bring both awesome sneakers and pretty jewelry to New York. On my last day there, I decided to have fun with color, textures and jewelry for a super sporty-glam look. The dainty gold jewelry from Janis Savitt (new fav designer btw!! love her aesthetic!), Pamela Love and Elena Votsi thanks to LoveGold completed my look.
It was definitely a New York minute, but wearing the right jewelry and outfit definitely made my quick trip that much more better.
Thanks LOVEGOLD for loaning me these amazing gold jewelry pieces!
