Fall is a great time to add a little color to your style, which can be approached a variety of ways. You can go big and bold, or keep it understated. Here’s one way to give a subtle nod to the season with some well-placed autumn accents.

Get the Look

A large portion of my wardrobe is made up of classic menswear neutrals – navy, gray, and brown. Of the three, navy is probably the color I wear most often. It’s the perfect canvas for adding pops of color. Remember that color accents don’t need to be bright and bold. Subtle, earthier tones like olive, deep burgundies, and even darker oranges, are super masculine and much less peacocky.

I picked up this crushable felt fedora – which has quickly become my almost everyday headwear this fall – from Worth and Worth, a small hat shop in Midtown West that also does custom jobs. And, of course, socks are a great accessory for adding a kick of color.

As you may know, I’ve been traveling the past few weeks. I’m currently in Houston for a couple days and will be heading west for the next week and a half, ending up in Albuquerque then flying home and getting pretty much straight on another plane to Italy. I always travel in the fall, which unfortunately means that I usually miss all the amazing colors on display as the leaves change. However, I did make a quick stop back home this past weekend – and I do mean quick, I was home for just over 24 hours! – and was very happy to see the leaves still on the trees.

Thanks for reading.

Stylishly Yours,

Brian
