Waxed Turtle

So if you are wondering why there are leaves covering the ground when its about to be spring, it’s because these pictures were taken at the end of fall. I know, a little late but this look pretty much sums up my winter wardrobe this year.
The turtleneck sweater is a great piece to keep your neck warm if you want to forego a scarf. It also gives that warm grandpa sweater vibe and they are super comfortable. If you opt for a wool or cashmere knit, it will also keep you quite warm with very little else under or over it (just be careful with your fabric choice as it may irritate your neck). This season has definitely showed a revival in the popularity of turtlenecks and they are only on the rise, so if you haven’t gotten one yet, I suggest picking one up at the end-of-season sales for next fall/winter. They are great for people with long necks because they cut your neck in half making it appear shorter. And if your lacking in the neck length department, it doesn’t mean they are off limits to you, I would just suggest staying with thinner fabrics that aren’t going to add bulk to your neck.
On the bottom, I wanted to contrast the look of the chunky sweater with slim waxed jeans and a pair of zip-up boots. These ended up giving the look a harder edge. Waxed denim is also a great step if you are not bold enough to wear leather pants. They can be worn in very similar ways and give somewhat of the same effect on an outfit.
So what do you guys think? Ready to go get a turtleneck? - Micah
