Winter Beauty Essentials

In celebration of the beginning of Winter, I thought I would share my top 5 beauty essentials for this Season. Because of the dropping temperatures and cold wind, your skin and hair can be left feeling dry and unhealthy. I've tried out some new products from Kosmea and VO5 and they've worked splendidly for the colder months, and today I'll be showing you my favourite products:

The first products I tried were skincare products from Kosmea. Kosmea is an Australian natural skincare company who make their products 'as nature intended'. They have formulated their natural skincare range around organic rose hip oil and the finest herbal, plant and flower extracts from Australia and around the world.

hyrdrating rosewater mist // The hydrating rosewater mist is so refreshing. With just one spritz it can be used to hydrate the skin, tone the skin and set make-up. It smells absolutely divine and is great for everyday use. It is made from a thousand delicately distilled rose petals :o It gives my skin such a healthy glow!

clarifying facial wash // After just one use, the clarifying facial wash made my face feel so smooth. Usually when I use facial cleansers, my face feels really dry afterwards (which is super annoying, especially for Winter) but this made my face feel super hydrated. It has been clearing up my skin and helping me with my acne which is a massive bonus! It is SLS free and made from coconut and Australian Lilly Pilly's, which gives it a super sweet scent.

certified organic rose hip oil // The rose hip oil is amazing. It has so many different uses, but it has really helped me with my acne scarring. It instantly reduced the redness on my face, my acne scarring has improved so much since I first started using it. It contains essential fatty acids, vitamins and antioxidants and is easily absorbed into the skin. It is super healthy, organic, hydrating and really is an essential beauty product for Winter!

The second products I tried were hair products from VO5. These products are specifically designed for dry hair, which is common in Winter. I'm definitely going to be buying more and using these all Season long! The great thing about these products is that they're super cheap ($5!) and you can pick them up from common stores, such as Coles or Woolworths.

give me moisture shampoo and conditioner // This shampoo and conditioner is so good! It smells amazing, like flowers and citrus. They both protect your hair from heat damage, from appliances like hair-dryers and hair-straighteners. After I used it and my hair had dried, my hair felt so smooth and silky, and there were barely any knots.

hot oil // I had never heard of hot oil before until I tried this, and I think it's such a cool idea. It is made from 5 natural oils and is rich in proteins, and is used to moisturise/condition hair from the roots. It restores your hairs natural shine, strength and silkiness and also protects your hair from heat styling. The set comes with 4 packets, and you use 1 packet every week for 4 weeks for best results. I've only used one so far but it worked really well.

Some more tips for healthy skin hair this Winter are:

- Drink lot's of water to stay hydrated
- Eat healthy foods like spinach and avocado that contain Vitamin E (protects the skin from UV rays and cell damage)
- Use a low temperature on heat styling hair appliances
- Don't make your showers/baths too hot, as the hot water dries you skin out fast
- Use moisturiser
- Wear SPF in the sun, or use a moisturiser that contains SPF
- Use a lip-balm to prevent your lips from cracking

Do you have any beauty tips for Winter? Happy weekend! x

The products stated above worked for my skin, but may not work for everyone. Many thanks to Shelley and Monique @ Elsie Garland Public Relations for sending me these goodies to try out!
