SPOTLIGHT: MAC Lady Danger

My love for red lipstick is back! Remember the days when I used to wear lots and lots of bold, bright lip colours? I kind of went off them for awhile just because they’re such high maintenance… I adore bright lips, but when you’re going to be eating/drinking/talking a lot (me…constantly) you need to make sure the colour isn’t fading or worse…getting on your teeth! For that reason I’ve been opting for more natural, but still pretty lip products like tinted lip balms, but last week I got the urge to go bold and Lady Danger had been on my wishlist for a long time. I like the idea of a more orange-toned red rather than a classic red especially for the warmer seasons…you know how much I love my coral colours!

I had enough empty MAC containers to do a Back-to-MAC which is always awesome and I am so happy with my choice! MAC describe Lady Danger as a ‘vivid bright coral-red’ The formula is matte, which I’m always nervous about because my lips are always on the dry side. Being a matte formula, the application is a bit different…it doesn’t glide and I found it helpful to almost press the colour onto my lips. I haven’t worn a lipliner with it (probably should), but this lipstick lasts incredibly well. I was SHOCKED at how it looked after eating a big bowl of ramen! Of course after a few hours the colour fades slightly, but a little touch up and the colour is good to go for another few hours. The best part about this lipstick though, is that it doesn’t transfer easily. No more worrying about red lipstick on teeth! I’m a total convert to matte red lipstick and I can’t believe I didn’t figure this out sooner.

Does anyone know a lipliner that goes well with Lady Danger? Just to lock that colour in even more!
