Sea & Sand in Skagen, Denmark

Greetings!

We spent a few days in Skagen, which was one of the most magical and beautiful places I have ever been. I would never call myself an outdoorsy kind of gal, but spending time on the beach and running through the insanely huge sand dunes showed me that maybe I can be! One of the most emotion evoking things we did in Skagen was standing in two seas at once. Yes, you read that right.

We had a leisurely morning, rented a tandem bike (seriously one of the most hilarious things ever) and off we went towards the most northern part of Denmark. Once you get there you can see two separate sets of waves clashing against each other from opposite directions. There’s something so special about that spot and it’s not something I can even attempt to explain.

After experiencing what the water had to offer we climbed up a huge lighthouse (tired just thinking about it) and saw the beach we had just walked along. Truly gorgeous place. Later that evening we drove about 20 minutes to the massive sand dunes. Who knew Denmark had sand dunes?! No matter how far we walked up and down those dunes they seemed to last forever! Each vantage point more beautiful than the last. We had a great time in Skagen and I would recommend it to anyone!
