Preview of Burberry Spring/Summer 2015 Beauty Look with Wendy Rowe

Being invited to go to the Burberry show is going on the list of best things to EVER happen to me. I was so, so excited to attend not only the show, but also to see a preview of the S/S15 beauty collection. To top it all off, Wendy Rowe herself (artistic consultant for Burberry and makeup artist extraordinaire) was the one giving the demo. So there I was, sitting in Burberry HQ witnessing Wendy Rowe do makeup on Flora, one of the most gorgeous people I’ve ever seen. It was all a bit surreal, but enough about my emotions…let’s get onto the makeup!

This show was called The Birds & The Bees, so Wendy was really trying to get that garden, honey glow to the skin which she definitely achieved with the Burberry Fresh Glow Radiance. She then smoothed Burberry BB Cream on top and a touch of the Burberry Fresh Glow Foundation to areas that needed some more coverage. The skin was absolute perfection and when I got home to recreate it I was amazed at how achievable this look really is. Wendy says Burberry is all about makeup that everyone can wear and she’s very conscious of the fact that not everyone has the time or energy to do a complex eyeshadow look. So with that in mind, she used the Burberry Earthy Blush as an eyeshadow, NO mascara (apparently it’s a very modern thing) with some bold brows with their new Effortless Eyebrow Definer, which Wendy said was “MAJOR!” because of its gel formula. And to top it all off she applied the most gorgeous Lipstick called Ruby.

The look is fascinating to me. It combines two things I wouldn’t normally put together: glossy golden-honey skin with a deep (usually glam) red lip. With minimal attention brought to the eye this look was stunning on the catwalk, but is also good enough to pop to the grocery store. I am in love! Being able to see the calm before the storm on a Sunday morning, to the chaos backstage and then to finally see it all come together on the catwalk was one of the most incredible experiences I have ever had. Thank you SO much to Burberry for inviting me along for this and I can’t wait to rock this look in the Spring!

Burberry make-up is available from Burberry.com, selected Burberry stores and retailers worldwide.
The new collection will be available from January 2015.
