Use Your Stash Challenge: Bottle Cap Christmas Ornaments

It’s that time of the year: time to work on DIY ornaments!

Long time readers will remember that my dad works at a craft beer brewery where we celebrated his 60th birthday last November.

At one point he gave me a small set of these bottle caps for use in a craft project.

For Father’s Day I made him a beer cap clock and for Christmas I’m using more to make Christmas ornaments for the beer loving men around me.

Supplies:

  • Cardboard cut into a ring shape
  • Bottle Caps (used ones that are somewhat flattened could also work!)
  • Ribbon
  • Hot Glue
  • Red Bling Gems
  • Optional: Tag, Twine and Bows

Start by cutting out a ring shape from cardboard and paint it black.

Glue bottle caps around this ring.

Hot glue a ribbon for hanging and bling gems as accents. Complete by attaching red bows and a “Hoppy Holidays” tag up front. I got these red velvet bows at the dollar store but they were attached together with this ugly gold twist tie so I just replaced it with some black and white twine I STILL had left over from our wedding invitations and they look perfect!

To gift them, I slipped them in green organza giftbags left over from my St. Patrick’s Day Kid Craft from Store Supply Warehouse. Voila, that’s one simple Use Your Stash ornament project that would make a nice male oriented ornament for the men in your life!

Cricket Hill has black bottle caps but green ones from your favorite CRAFT beer brewery would also work nicely with the typical green wreath shape.
