financial peace of mind

So the holiday season is heeeeeere! With Black Friday behind us, we all know how it’s easy to get caught up in the hustle of the holidays and lose sight of the goals for we’ve set to help us achieve and maintain financial peace of mind. I’m trying to be more responsible with my money/spending habits and want to obtain “financial peace of mind” in 2015. To me, financial peace of mind means not having constant money stress. As I previously mentioned, we are planning to put our house on the market early next year and then we’ll be buying a new house. In order to get us ready to go for that, we need to pay down debts, save money and budget. Here are some things we are doing now in order to set ourselves up for financial success in 2015.

As a newly married couple, we are working on making a budget as a couple. We are sharing a bank account now so we need to be on the same page as far as spending and being on track with saving. Right now we are tracking our spending so we first have an idea of what we are spending. Any extra is going towards paying down debt and savings. We want to start the year off on the right foot with less debt and more in savings. We are also working on not overspending this Christmas season too, which will help us to start out 2015 with financial peace of mind.
