Casual (Fashion) Friday – Fashion Show Edition
Hello my lovely readers and Happy New Year!
So this post is long overdue, but I’m finally getting around to it! With inspiration from my new H&M coat find (worn here) and one of my absolute favorite fashion bloggers, Kimberly of Penny Pincher Fashion, I wanted to go for a polished, chic, yet casual look for a fashion show I attended last month. I thought pairing the coat with a neutral ensemble would make it pop even more than it already does alone. The casual, yet sophisticated feel of this outfit makes for a great casual Friday look! Last month, I attended ”Walk” Fashion Show in Detroit. The show was started to give area designers a chance to showcase their talents in a city and state, not so known for their fashion prowess. The event, hosted at the historic Michigan Science Center featured five shows that evening; A children’s segment, an urban segment, a curvy segment, a couture segment and a fashion forward segment. I didn’t catch all of the shows, but really enjoyed the ones I did, particularly the curvy, couture and fashion forward segments. I shared laughs with great people, danced and took lots of pictures and got to meet the night’s host, Detroit native, Naima Mora, American fashion model and winner of Cycle 4 of America’s Next Top Model!
