HAMA RIKYU

Just read Yoko Ono's "Revelations" and here's her advice on what to do when you are angry. "Transform the energy to versatility and it will bring you prosperity."

Hama-rikyu is where the wild cats are. I saw lots running around this park. They are so cute and fat!

Yoko Ono might be right as I find no purpose in anger. Some are quick to judge, quick to react but the true happiness lies in being able to control your own emotions. Bless this cat for teaching me the power to ignore.

How to got to Hama-rikyu Garden? Via JR or Tokyo Metro Ginza Line/Toei Asakusa Line, hop off at Shimbashi station. The otemon/ main gate is close to CONRAD Hotel.

"Fly, fly, fly the butterfly." First time to see one after a long, long time. Little things like that makes me happy!

A large pine was planted at the time of 6th Shogun, to represent the garden's renovation, which has fortunately survived 300 human years. That's triple of a typical Japanese's life span.

Kamoba or duck hunting is also promoted in Hama-rikyu. According to their website, "Duck blinds were used to observe the ducks and feed them grain. When they came too close, they were caught using nets, which was a form of duck hunting."

The pond inside Hama-rikyu is considered special. The water is straight from Edo Bay. Isn't it amazing how Japan is very particular with their history? Even small details like this is very important to them!
