BIG GIRLS DON'T CRY... THEY GET EVEN.

Lillia has never had any problems dealing with boys who like her. Not until this summer, when one went too far. No way will she let the same thing happen to her little sister.

Kat is tired of the rumours, the insults, the cruel jokes. It all goes back to one person– her ex-best friend– and she's ready to make her pay.

Four years ago, Mary left Jar Island because of a boy. But she's not the same girl anymore. And she's ready to prove it to him.

Three very different girls who want the same thing: sweet, sweet revenge. And they won't stop until they each had a taste.

My Thoughts
You may have noticed above that I read three different copies of this book over the course of many months. I started it on my iPad as a review book from NetGalley but unfortunately it expired on me. I remember that I started it the morning I got a flat tire on my way to class. Luckily I had my iPad so I just sat and read while waiting for someone to fix my tire. After it expired I found the audiobook at the library, which I loved. I still want to finish listening to the audio someday because the different actors for each of the three girls were just perfect. After I returned it Laura was nice enough to send me her ARC so I could finally finish it.
I really like both of the authors so I went into this feeling positive. Jenny Han wrote the incredible Summer series that I read in one night in June 2011 because Ginger was pushing everyone to read it. Thanks again Ginger for recommending such an amazing series! I think that same year I also read Siobhan Vivian's Not That Kind of Girl which I instantly became a huge fan of. If you haven't read it go out and get it now. I still need to get my hands on her other books, including The List which is still on my ever growing wishlist. So thanks to those reading experiences you can imagine how excited I was to read Burn for Burn. Plus, you guessed it, not once did it disappoint.
I love books that are told from different perspectives. I know that some people find that confusing but I think it adds to the story. Here we have these three girls who are each very different. Kat is the rebel child who just wants to get off Jar Island, Lillia is a cheerleader who lives on the rich side of the island, and Mary is the quiet girl who was forever wronged by the one boy she gave her heart to years ago. Together they make a great team and I loved reading about all their plans to avenged the people who had crossed them one too many times. The book ended on a major cliffhanger but luckily I'm reading a copy of Fire with Fire right now from the lovely people at Eidelweiss. Burn for Burn just came out in paperback on the 6th and you can pick up the newly released Fire with Fire as of the 13th. Definitely read this series and anything else that these ladies have written or will write in the future. Their books are emotional, romantic, and daring.
