Today, Alibaba became the highest valued online retailer, estimated to be worth more than Amazon and eBay. Their IPO went live at $21.8 billion, the largest ever seen in the US. More than 100 million shares of the Chinese company traded within 20 minutes, with 200 million traded by early afternoon.
