some things are just worth the effort
looking back i can’t believe we were unsure about visiting stari bar. it sounded interesting but it was out of the way & would involve taking a bus from sveti stefan to bar, then a train or another bus to stari bar, then back to bar, then a train on to virpazar, all while carrying a big, heavy backpack (him, not me, duh). or we could just go straight from sveti stefan to virpazar.
in the end we decided we had the time so we might as well go. what an excellent choice that was. i’d almost go as so far to say it’s worth visiting montenegro to see stari bar (aka antivari) alone. really. it was absolutely stunning & i’ve seriously struggled to narrow these photos down (oh yes, i took more) so i shall shut up & leave you with some serious history/architecture porn. i hope you enjoy.
