how to make your lipstick stay put!

i bloomin’ love lipstick! there isn’t a quicker, cheaper way to dress up your look: you can be wearing your laziest outfit but just add a swipe of a bright lippie & you’re good to go.

i know this post has been done before but as a regular wearer-of-lipstick (& someone who’s tried lots of different brands) i thought i’d share my favourites & my own tried-&-tested method. it might take 5 minutes but, done properly, this makes your lipstick last much longer.

prep

use an exfoliator or a damp face cloth to buff your lips. apply a little bit of moisturiser (i like nivea sos balm) & leave for a minute or 2 to really sink in.

line

whether you prefer to use a lip brush or apply straight from the bullet (i do both depending on my mood!), line your lips, then completely colour them in with the lip pencil.

apply

apply your first coat, blot using a tissue, then apply again.

fix

do ‘

the finger thing‘ then either apply lipcote or hold 1 layer of tissue over your lips & lightly dust with face or talcum powder (stick to one, i find if you do both it clumps!). you’re done!
