IT TURNES OUT….

So, flared jeans??-an older colleague of mine asked just as she caught me on my way out of the surgery- I remember those from back in the 70′s, never thought they will get back in fashion again- she said….To be honest, neither did I. I remember my mother trying to pack a pair on me some 10 years ago or so, but I found the whole cut so repellant that it was completely out of the question.Oh, if my younger version could see me now,I think she would be very much confused.
But here I am- in amazingly flare cut pair by Victoria Beckham, ordered on sale. I will admit to being reluctant on buying them at full price, but clicking them home I knew they were either to be amazigness in denim- or- one of those things stored in the darkest corners of your wardrobe.
It turns out Mom was right (she usually is though) and I while I may blame my young age and absolute ignorance towards great jeans cut, the rule of returning fashion has become one of the golden style standards (just look at the house of Saint Laurent)
However, I know I am going on and on about that 70′s thing, calling it neo 70′s but I feel I should elaborate a bit.
While 70′s back in the actual 70′s were concerned by female form, flared cut leaning towards western with a touch of hippie’s style, the 70′s back in year 2014 are leaning towards Céline-esque minimalism (introduced by Phoebé Philo) and late 60′s (read Saint-Laurent) with feminine attitude applied (seen at Chloé).
So nothing hippie or in my language I-would-never-sport-it-at-the-office .Although one rule still seems to apply: the longer the better and for God´s sake wear the platforms. Although hidden my Prada’s are really lending those extra inches.

Totéme knit, Victoria Beckham jeans, Céline bag and sunnies, Georg Jensen watch, Chloé and Saint Laurent bracelets-on sale here
