Confession: I didn’t eat a real fig until I was in my early twenties. Fig newtons, yes. That’s sort of a sad statement for the way the majority of my generation ate growing up—sugary treats rather than whole foods. Thankfully, I’ve been enjoying these little gems in their delicious whole form for the last eight years and I love getting creative with them.
