How I wore it: L’oréal Too Dimensional & L’oréal Sexy in Sequins

Today I want to show you two nail polishes I kept despite the fact that I’ve had enough of Liquid Sand/texture/sand/sugar matt/whatever name you can come up with polishes. As you might have realized I love glitter, so the only textured polishes I like are the ones that sparkle madly. In a less than recent swap with M., she sent me all the L’oréal Color Riche Gold Dust polishes, which in L’oréal language simply means textured.

Both dry to a gritty finish (surprise!), and they look rather similar from color in the bottle, but they look very different applied. Sexy in sequins is a dark plum purple interspersed with gold glitters. Too dimensional is more blue toned texture with a strong golden shimmer. I prefer Too dimensional, but I like them both a lot.

The application of both polishes is really easy. I applied two coats for good measure, but one can be sufficient. As most textured polishes, they both dry really quickly. I find the brush a bit too broad, but nothing one can’t work with.

I decided to wear this with my new favorite black and white outfit. Recently I realized that peplum tops can be quite flattering, and in spite of my original assessment, they don’t look goofy on me. The search for one proved rather difficult, because I didn’t want one with too much cloth flapping around – I don’t need to wear a tutu on my hips. Finally I just decided to go for it and ordered one from Banana Republic (which is, due to the fact that one has to pay for return shipping, basically un-returnable), and I’m very happy with it.

Also rather recently Uniqlo decided to offer shipping to Austria, and the logical conclusion was that I can’t buy food for the next couple of month – just joking, but had I no discipline, this would have happened. Nevertheless, I decided to order a pair of black jeans, which fit perfectly. I love Uniqlo jeans, as they cut the straight jeans rather high and at my height and size, those low cut jeans are a no-go (unless you want to go to the zoo and compete with behind-flashing baboons).

The shoes are from H&M, and they look substantially better than they wear, so I barely take them out for a walk – I guess they’ll end up on someone else’s feet soon, but that’s how it goes. I’m slowly figuring out what pieces of clothing really fit me and which ones I actually wear, it’s a process that comes with maturing and ripping like cheese. Just to round this up, the scarf is from Esprit, and my pop of color in this outfit.

Which pieces of clothing have you discovered lately? Are you also on the slow train sometimes when it comes to the speedy train of fashion?
