How I wore it: Emily de Molly Frail Promise and nails inc sugar house lane

The thing with the jeans is, that it’ll always be a thing. Seriously, the problematic of finding jeans that fit perfectly seems to dominate women’s magazines (next to “my body is fine the way it is”-articles, one page before “How to loose 10 kg in 10 weeks”-articles).

I wish someone would show me my perfect jean. So far I’ve accumulated jeans I can wear to work on a very casual Friday, jeans I can wear to my grandmothers’ (no cuts, no used look, otherwise she’ll ask me again if she should fix my jeans), and jeans I feel comfortable in.

Into the last category fall these super soft jeans from J.Crew. If we assess the cut, we can see it’s rather common: the waist is higher than it was in the 90ties (than god for that. Seriously, if you’re taller than 165cm, low waist essentially means below your butt), the length is just a little too short (we’re all hipsters after all), around the knees the jeans are ripped apart for a used look (you have to follow trends).

If you consider these to be the perfect jeans, what about all those bootcut jeans we wore in the 90ies? Are those no longer cool? And what about those ABBA-style jeans, those with the super wide leg? I still totally love straight-cut jeans, but these are so out of style, I think I bought the last pair that was available worldwide. You know what, the only thing I can totally live without are those jeggins or super skinny jeans. I think 9 times out of 10 they look like a butcher’s first try on making sausage (they definitely look like that on me!).

So now that I’ve given this subject a ton of thought, I realized that the perfect jean for me – and this is the common denominator in all the jeans I’ve ever possessed – is pockets. Back pockets and front pockets. Because jeans only look cool if you can put your hands in your pockets, right?

The nail polishes I’m wearing are Emily de Molly Frail Promise (thumb, ring finger, pinkie) and nails inc sugar house lane (pointer and middle finger). There was a time that I had a speckled polishes collection phase. Don’t get me wrong, I still love them, but now I prefer polishes like Frail Promise to a black-and-white-glitter-in-a-base-color look. Frail Promise reminds me of our kitchen counter when I was small, so maybe I’m biased. I used 2 coats for this look.

shoes: TOMS, jeans: J.Crew, bag: gift from my mum, top: New Look, cardigan: J.Crew, bracelets: Frey Wille (bangle), Apreciouz (silk ribbon).

Share with me: what makes your jeans perfect?
