Style Inspired by Street Art

This post is brought to you by Perrier and their fancy new street art inspired bottles, which PS are beautiful!

One of the many things I love about living in a big city is that inspiration is everywhere. Filling my head with new ideas and inspiration is a key ingredient to success in my line of work. I happen to live a few blocks away from LACMA but what I find almost more interesting is the art I walk by on the streets while shopping for clients. A graffiti covered wall might inspire a cool pop of color to a ho-hum look or even a combination of colors that I may not have tried in an outfit before.

Lately I’ve been inspired by graffiti artist Banksy. If you haven’t seen Exit Through the Gift Shop, do yourself a favor and see it. I love how a lot of his work is very neutral (gray or white wall with black) and then has a brilliant pop of red.

In celebration of Perrier‘s fancy new street art-inspired bottle, I have created a look inspired by graffiti and street art. Since, at this period in my life, I am not one to pile on the bright colors – I kept it Banksy style. I wanted a neutral look with a pop of red (my Tom Ford lip color in Cherry Lush).

I started with my fall staple, leather pants by Current Elliot. Today was actually the first day this fall that it’s actually been somewhat cold in LA so I was BEYOND excited to break these out. On top I went with a basic gray tee by Enza Costa (my fave) and punched it up with a sequin jacket by IRO. A few silver rings from Thailand and a pair of shoe-booties rounded out my look.

How and where do you find your style inspiration?
