What a Week Returns as Fall Event Season Kicks Off…
What a week it has been with events around Houston! Things are definitely starting to pick up and Fall is in the air with many events already on the books. Even while the temps continue to rise here in Houston, fashion and the newest in beauty is changing rapidly before our eyes.
Below are some of the events, that started happening this week that MRG could not miss. Here we go…..Fall is just around the corner!

The Women of Wardrobe’s Annual Summer Soiree was held at Tootsies on Tuesday, and supported Dress for Success. Designer Laurel Berman, founder and lead designer, presented her 2014 Black Halo collection, and Claudia Lobao, a regular at this event, once again, showed lots of awesome new jewelry designs. I was very taken with her new metal finishes and many new styles.
J. Jill Re-opening
J. Jill recently opened their newly renovated store in The Galleria, and what a difference! From the open layout to the bright natural decor, this is a store you can enjoy shopping in. One of our lucky readers will be winning a great gift card, so keep an eye out for more details to follow.
Neiman Marcus Trend Event
Neiman Marcus held their latest trend event on Wednesday the 13th, and all we have to say is Fall IS HERE! The trends to keep in mind for the season are Global Chic, Knit Dressing, Gray Matters and Greens. The Accessory of note is the statement necklace, layered beyond on all of the models and the footwear to note on just about each model is the bootie, mostly shown open-toed for early Fall but clearly a wardrobe of booties will go with any wardrobe options this Fall. My personal favorite shoe is the Grey Flannel pump from Dior that was used repeatedly and I must have! Great job by Neiman’s Stacey and Amy of getting many of the fashionista-filled crowd ready for the new season.
