Untraditional Christmas Scrapbook Page

I love collections that are versatile and the Open Book collection takes the cake!! This collection is so perfect for Christmas projects, even though it’s not a Christmas line! There are fun pops of gold, adorable little deer and warm woodgrains throughout! Other than my December Daily album, I never got around to printing out my Christmas photos and getting them onto a layout, so I was excited to create this page! I started by printing out four small square photos from our holidays. I debated keeping them together as a printed collage, but in the end, I felt like the trimmed photos added a little more depth and dimension to the page.
I layered the trimmed photos onto several different paper layers from the Open Book collection, making sure the bolder color papers popped out from behind the more neutral papers. I used simple vellum embellishments, chipboard stickers and fabric brads to add a little character to the photo section of my page. And I placed the glittered “captured” vertically alongside my photo to act as a title and to pull out the other pops of gold on my page.
To keep with the Christmas theme on my layout, I added in a few classic Christmas decorations. I love both of the deer, but I especially love how the little pink deer is a traditional icon in a non-traditional color! Christmas pages don’t always have to be all red and green!
To finish my page, I added a paragraph of typed journaling below my photos and paper layers. It’s pretty simple, but I love how the words tell a little bit of our Christmas story!
Thank you so much for joining me today!! I hope this page has inspired you to think outside of the box and try a few non-traditional colors on your Christmas projects!!
