February Empties

Empties, empties, oh so many empties. I feel like it never ends. Every month I am so proud I finished a bunch of products, but then I look in my bathroom, and there are products everywhere! I’m not really in a “no-buy”, mode but I am trying hard to resist the urge, and just use stuff up! It takes a lot longer than I think to finish things. Working on month 3 trying to finish a lipstick I’ve had for awhile, but don’t want to throw out.

14 items! Let’s go!

L’Oreal Triple Resist Reinforcing Conditioner- I always finish the conditioner first! I bought the shampoo and conditioner from this L’Oreal line because my hair was breaking really badly. I think the keratin was too much for my hair though, because it was really drying. I loved the smell though! Now I usually always reach for hydrating options.

Organix Nourishing Coconut Milk Hibiscus Body Wash- Mmmm I loved how this coconut body wash smelled! It wasn’t that fake coconut scent, it was very fresh and lovely. Organix makes some really awesome products, and they all smell so good. This body wash was super hydrating, and really cured my sad winter skin.

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer in Nude- Ok, so. I loved the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer at first. It was light, but nice coverage. My skin always looked glowy and hydrated, but it wasn’t heavy so I loved it in the summer. My problem with it, and why I probably won’t repurchase it is the packaging, and how at $42, the packaging should be better! Product was constantly leaking out, and getting wasted. As I got toward the end, the product was literally just flowing out, wasting multiple uses worth.

Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer in Nude- The name got worn off after using this so much, I had to look it up! I loved using this highlighting concealer under the eyes. It really brightens it up and made my skin look fresh and awake. I will probably repurchase this, but I want to try a few other options first, to find the best one!

Ban Unscented Deodorant- Boring. This is a typical, unscented deodorant. I think it works really well. I prefer unscented deodorants, because I only want people to smell my perfume!

Philosophy Purity Made Simple Facial Cleanser- I have 2 of these little bottles of Purity Made Simple and the top has broken on BOTH of them! That aside, I do love this cleanser. It is was it says. A simple facial cleanser. It has a very light fresh scent, and removes make up really well. I find it to be not very drying either. It is a bit expensive for something so simple. Probably won’t repurchase.

Clean and Clear Acne Spot Treatment- This is only half empty, but I realized it expired 3 years ago! A little goes a long way with this spot treatment, so the tube lasts a really long time. I only use this when I have a really bad pimple, something that needs some specific treatment in order to go away. A little dab of this, and overnight spots disappear, or at least shrink A LOT!

Whish Correcting Gel- I received this in a Birchbox, and was very disappointed. While I liked the coconut smell, that was really it. I had never really used a gel on my face before, and I was not a fan of the experience. I felt like my skin couldn’t breath. The week or so I was using this, my skin was breaking out really badly, which is rare for me. I think the gel clogged my pores.

BareMinerals Stroke of Light- This little bitty sample of the Stroke of Light eye brightener came in a sample bag from Sephora. After finishing the Maybelline Highlighting Concealer, I turned to this. The small sample only lasted a weeks worth of uses. It was very thin, which blended out well, but didn’t do much for brightening up my under eyes. I think the drugstore has better, cheaper alternatives.

Covergirl Perfect Point Eyeliner- I have had a lot of these Covergirl eyeliners of the years, and I think they have gone down hill. They smudge so much! Even worse, they are always broken inside. This is a twist up eyeliner, which I like because I don’t have to deal with sharpening it. So often though I would click it up and the tip would break off. Disappointing!

Samples! The never ending box of samples.

EV Skinlabs Body Relief Lotion- This was my second sample of this lotion. I really like it, it is so hydrating and sinks into the skin really quickly. It has a sort of weird smell though, but that is because there are no added fragrances. The smell of the lotion is just how lotion smells.

StriVectin Advanced Retinol Night Cream- It is hard to say after only 3 uses, but I think I really liked this product! My skin felt really plump after using. I am a little young for a retinol cream, but maybe in a few years I will buy a full size.

Miss Jessie’s Leave in Condish- I really love Miss Jessie’s products for my crazy curly hair. The Leave in Condish is their newest product, so I was excited to see this huge sample in my Birchbox. This product worked really well to detangle my hair, and helped to tame frizz. I think I will pick up a full size of this soon.

100% Pure Pink Grapefruit Nourishing Body Cream- ALERT ALERT, best smelling lotion ever. I LOVE grapefruit…It smells so fresh, with the perfect mix of sweet and tart. Need a full size IMMEDIATELY! Oh, and it works pretty well too. Light weight, which will be perfect for summer.

Sorry if that was a super long post! Finished so many things.
