Show Us How You Use It {Aluminum Cans} - DIY Teacher Desk Organizer

Hi, Owl friends! It's Dana from Prepping for the Primary Gridiron (as well as 3rd Grade Gridiron). The other Owls and myself are teaming up again this week to bring you more ideas for "Show Us How You Use It!"

This week's linky is all about aluminum cans.
I wanted a new and cute way to organize all the teacher stuff on my desk, but I didn't want to spend a ton of money on an organizer. So I gathered up my materials:
- cans - spray paint - ribbon - hot glue gun/glue sticks

I spray painted my cans:

Once the cans dried, I added the ribbon using my hot glue gun:

After adding the ribbon to each can, I hot glued each can together. This part was a little tricky, but I figured it out and made it work. :)

Now I have a "Seuss-tastic" desk organizer! I can organize all my Sharpies, pens, markers, and several other important "teachery" things - all in one place!
Two reasons I {heart} this project:
- you can use as many (or as few) cans as you want - you can paint them to match your classroom theme
Now it's your turn! How have you used aluminum cans in the classroom? If you have a post to share, link up! If not, feel free to leave your project idea in the comments!
