In need of a little weekend project inspiration?
This industrial style laundry bag is quick to sew and as decorative as it is functional. We were in need of a travel-friendly bag for storing laundry, but a bag like this could just as easily be used for daily laundry or a housewarming gift for those headed off to dorm living or a first apartment.
We're big fans of industrial style and I'm a sucker for utility fabric with a ticking pattern — remember when I used it for the
upholstered storage trunk seat and the
DIY door draft stopper? Welp, I used it again to make this laundry bag — #sorrynotsorry.
Making the bag is a similar concept to the smaller drawstring bags you may have learned to make as a kid (tell me I'm not the only one who made like 50 of these growing up?), but just on a larger scale and using a heavier-weight fabric.
Paired with a jute rope, the bag even took on a bit of a nautical feel — dare I say having a stylish bag makes doing laundry more fun? OK, OK, maybe that's taking it a bit far...
