Upcoming pants silhouettes for prefall 2015

Although some of you are looking at spring fashion already, I had a look at the collections for pre-fall 2015 to see what silhouettes are coming up.

I find it useful to look ahead, certainly now when the sales are on. The big designers will influence all clothing that will be available in mainstream stores and this way you can be sure that you buy something that will last a few seasons.

Today I especially look at pants silhouettes.

Ralph Lauren (see top image) featured wider pants but with a slim and sleek silhouette. I’m loving the long and lean lines.

Joseph also featured wide pants that seem to be a bit boxier.

At Max Mara pants were wide as well. Great for creating a Katherine Hepburn look!

Stella McCartney featured knitted pants and wider ankle pants. Both options are not so easy to wear if you are after a flattering silhouette and are a more trendy option.

BCBG Max Azria featured wide pants in long and short versions. As you know I already have the shorter right version in white so I’m covered there. It’s a trendy option as well, so only for the fashionistas among you!

Lovers of slim fitting pants will be happy to know that Christian Dior featured both wider style as well as slim fitting pants on the runway. I think that you will still see quite a lot of cigarette style pants coming fall. Not so tight as the current skinnies but a more tailored slim fitting fit. Not everyone will be ready for the wider style pants.

3.1 Philip Lim featured slim fitting ankle length pants, which look great with those loafer style flats as well as the booties.

As you can see, there is a wide variety of pants silhouettes for coming Fall. It’s interesting to note that the 70s vibe which is so strong for Spring 2015 is not really continuing much into Fall. However, there will be a larger variety of wider pants that season and slimmer fitting pants tend to be tailored rather than leg hugging.

As you know things in fashion can change rapidly though. If the 70s sentiment really catches on in spring and summer, we may see more flared pants too.

Which pants silhouette are you looking forward to wearing the coming season?
