Summer Room Progress

Well hello beach cottage ladies, more on the Summer Room renovation with white paint…

So I wrote before (the post with more pics on the Summer Room painting is here) about this room needing re-pointing and whether or not we would be doing that now…well once the undercoat went on and we examined this corner of the room, it was no longer an if and when, more like a now…the need for re-pointing was glaringly obvious once painted white…it’s happening on Monday…

I’ve been undecided what to do on colour here, I hate to say this, because I think you may well be bored by now, but yup I went down that same avenue of whether to go grey in here or white or what – am trying to think of other colours that I might like because I tell you what, it’s not going to be grey…

Here’s a tester of the grey on the wall (with the yellowy cream original colour to the right of it) – if you’ve actually read my rambling about grey this is the ‘concrete-y’ feel that I do not love when Australian sun hits grey…so this will not be going this grey…

As you can see the re-pointing is required in more than one place…

Ho hum, all in a days work right – just love spending money on re-pointing, I mean just so much more pleasurable than new shoes ;)

OK I am off, I have a meeting with a builder this afternoon on the bathrooms – I went to an open house recently I spotted online (errrm why was I looking online at real estate you may ask, ahem well let’s just say there may be BC III on the horizon, hahaha yup we are completely round the twist for even considering this but it’s happening) and the bathrooms were beautiful – very different in style to what I would go for, kinda vintage modern (?) – have no idea if ‘vintage modern’ is even a thing but it really inspired me for the two new bathrooms going in here…that’s why I love going into real homes with real budgets and real live humans in them and seeing what people have done rather than all the staged stuff you see in the mags…

Anyhoo gotta run.
