D is for Deciem

Time for the next instalment in my ‘Beautypedia’ and we’re up to D (I need to speed these up a bit, right?!) and I have a bit of a twist. Ok, so I could have gone for an obvious one like Dior or Decleor or similar. But no, the one I wanted to mention is Deciem – now, there’s every chance you might not have heard of Deciem itself but you may have heard about it’s brands. Technically, Deciem is the parent brand or company that the various brands are under.

So Deciem is the ‘parent’ brand, the fun bits I want to talk about are the different products under it and why they rock. Deciem is a brand that really is worth a watch – they’re some pretty interesting ones. Including one I mentioned as a January Favourite.

Hand Chemistry – The brand I probably have the most love for right now from Deciem. Me and my super-dry skin are praising Hand Chemistry’s praises on a daily basis. This stuff is fab – packed with their ‘Active Complex’ in the hand cream to deliver long lasting moisture. Then there’s the new Hand Chemistry Retin-Oil* – an intensive oil treatment product for scars, stretch marks and dehydrated skin (hello!). This is basically a kick ass version of Bio Oil. Probably much more technical than that, but in simplistic terms. There’s also the Hand Chemistry Hyaluronic Body Mist*. A body mist with tons of hyaluronic acid to help hydrate the skin. It’s a mist that sprays hydration on to the skin as quickly and easily as possible. My only niggle with this one is that it does smell quite lemony – it doesn’t linger on the skin though, so just a little niggle.

Fountain – The beauty from the inside out idea. But going beyond beauty and into overall well being and health too. There’s Hyaluronic Molecule* – to deliver Hyaluronic Acid to the skin/body from inside. There’s the classic ‘Beauty Molecule’ and ‘Beauty Molecule Extra Strength’. The list goes on – there’s the ‘Happy Molecule’, the ‘Geek Molecule’ the ‘Energy Molecule’. I challenge you to read the list without going ‘Yep, I could do with some of that – to ALL of them.’ I have the Hyaluronic Molecule on my test list as soon as I’m done with my current supplement trial. So whilst I can’t say I’ve reviewed these yet – I can definitely say they caught my eye as it’s a really interesting range of products.

Grow Gorgeous – Remember when a load of Cleansing Conditioners hit the market last year? The idea of washing your hair with just conditioner? Well, some will love it and some won’t be all that fussed. For me, I like it but can’t do it on an ongoing basis as my hair is quite fine and tends to get weighed down. But the immediate results are always great in terms of silky soft hair. But there’s more than that under the Grow Gorgeous Umbrella – including ‘Back to the Roots’ scalp mask (which for a scalp fiend like me sounds fab). There’s a leave in Serum for Split Ends, and Overnight Conditioner and of course the hair growth serum.

Inhibitif - Another one I’ve not actually tried. But in the interest of giving the full overview…this is the range that promises to help reduce hair growth in all sorts of places to help minimise the pain that is hair removal. All in products from gels, to deodorant to body lotions. A bit of everything. If you want to cut down the de-fuzz routine.

Basically, I think that Deciem is a really interesting brand coming out with something different but the sort of thing that solves beauty problems in ways that other brands might not be. Plus, if they can release a handcream that actually works for my dry as anything hands – then SCORE. Definitely one to watch.
