made: scheepjes CAL 2014 blanket

Hi everyone! :)

12 Weeks. 10 Square patterns. 1 Joining pattern. 1 Border pattern. 1 Crazy active Facebook group with over 7,000 ladies in it, making the most gorgeous blankets I have ever seen. All ingredients for the Best CAL Ever! :) Well, at least of 2014, according to Kathryn Vercillo from the popular Crochet Concupiscence blog, who awarded the Scheepjes CAL 2014 with an Awesome Blog Award for best CAL of the year!

Now that all the patterns have been released, I thought it was time to show you my rendition of the Scheepjes CAL 2014 blanket! :)

I had SO much fun doing this CAL with you all! And I mean you ALL – did you know that this was the most international CAL I have ever done? There were people from The Netherlands, the US, the UK, India, Australia, and I can keep going naming countries for a while because there were people from literally EVERYWHERE! :)

It was a lot of hard work, but it was worth it. There were some people in the Facebook group who decided it was more fun to harass and threaten me than to join in on the fun and make the blanket. But now that the CAL is over I can look back with a happy heart to all the lovely people who made it a succes, and the memories of those less-than-nice people quickly faded away!

This CAL has allowed me to go on tour throughout The Netherlands, to give small workshops, called Make & Takes, and to meet crocheters everywhere for meet & greets. I will write a blog post about the tour later; I’ve got a lot of awesome photos I want to share with you! :)

I want to extend a special thank you to my sponsor for this CAL, Dutch-based yarn brand Scheepjes. They have been more than amazing in organizing this CAL and I truly could not have done it without them!

I am getting all sentimental about all this, haha! I am just going to miss this CAL!
