Which camera and lens do you use?
A Canon 450D with a 50mm 1.8 lens. It’s not the best camera or lens in the world and I adjust a lot in Photoshop. But if you’re not planning on thousands of euros it’s definitely the best choice. If you’d like to know some photography tips, definitely check out this & this post.
What eyeliner do you use?
I usually just go with a random eyeliner. I’m currently using Yves Rocher and I really like that one because of the brush that comes with it.
Can you advise on your base tone and powder?
Another question on my make-up! I haven’t thought of doing beauty posts, would that be something you would like? I guess I don’t see myself as a beauty expert, because I get my information from other people as well. I only learned to apply my make-up properly when I went to an Yves Saint Laurent make-up workshop. This is where I got the YSL Teint Touche Eclat foundation and that’s what I’ve been using ever since. I don’t use powder, just the foundation, a Kiko Radiant Touch creamy highlighter stick and a Mac Prep Prime highlighter pen.
What is your favourite fashion item?
I don’t really have one favourite fashion item, I love fashion and changing up my look far too much for that. Two items I really love right now are my overknee boots from Peace Love Shea x Steve Madden and a little blue handbag from Furla I keep on wearing. I guess when I can decide on a designer bag to invest in (probably the Proenza Schouler PS11) that will my favourite item.
How do you make your living?
I’m an online marketeer at Kitsch Kitchen, a Dutch home decoration brand. I started a little over a month ago, so it’s all very new and exciting! You can read all about it in this post I recently wrote. I used to make my living as a freelance graphic designer for the biggest part this year. A part of my income was (and still is) this blog you’re looking at! I use affilliate links and write advertorials – if I feel like they fit my blog.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years time?
Yikes! Difficult question! I wish I could say I had one main goal, but I don’t. I’m not sure if I’ll still be blogging in 10 years time, but I’ve always loved my projects. So I’m sure I’ll be running an online project and obviously I hope it’s going to be succesful. I also would really love to write a children’s book and start my own clothing line.
How old are you?
Daring question I would say just guess, but that’s not fair haha. I’m 27 a.k.a. the wrong side of 25, but luckily everybody always thinks I’m younger.
What are your top 3 blogs?
The first blog I ever started reading was Style Scrapbook and it’s still my go-to blog whenever I feel like reading a blog. Her style is quite similar to mine and I love that she does awesome shoots like this one.
Number two would be Le Blog de Betty, another blog I have been reading for years. I really love her fun style. I mostly follow Betty on Instagram nowadays.
The last one is WishWishWish. I only discovered this blog about a year ago when someone told me my blog and style reminded them of her. Carrie’s sense of style, photography and writing are always so on point. Talk about blogging goals…
What would you never wear?
Ok, I know it may sound like I’m avoiding all of your questions. But I’m one of those ‘never say never’ persons. Case in point being flare pants. I said I would never wear those and have bought 2 pairs already (here and here) in the last months. Although I guess I would never wear something that doesn’t flatter my body type. So I’m pretty sure I would never wear multiple oversized items. I’m also not into casual/basic outfits, they’re a little bit dull in my book.
Which social media channel works best for your blog?
In terms of traffic definitely Facebook. In terms of reach I would say Instagram, because that’s where I have the largest following. It’s also the most visual of all channels, so naturally that’s what works best for a visual blogger like me.
