Put A Name On It

Single life can be really hard, guys. You don’t have a guaranteed date to anything. Even a quick shoulder rub requires paying a stranger with actual cash. Nothing makes me wish I had a partner more than trying to zip up a dress in the morning. (That is, until I perform acrobatics to unzip it when I get home.)

In those moments it’s easy to forget how nice single life can be. You answer to no one else. There are no fights about whose family gets the happy couple for Christmas. No one to compromise your sleep! Seriously – I woke up just a few mornings ago having taken the case off a pillow with my nocturnal thrashing. I’m guessing that would not have gone over well with a dude in my bed.

Let’s be real: the best part of being single is making your life all about you.

1 | It’s been a while since I included anything Doctor Who on the blog – blame it on my still being unsure of the past season. (It’s not you, Peter, it’s the story you were given.) Metal Speak pairs your favorite initial with charms I’d never think to make fashionable like a box of doughnuts, an anatomically correct heart, and dental floss. Wonderfully quirky, I say.

2 | Yes, I own this Baublebar monogram necklace, and I still love it.

3 | I love the simplicity of these monogram rings from Mama’s Studio. Also, the earrings. And the roman numerals. Let’s just agree that this is a cool shop for the sentimental jewelry aficionado.

4 | New theory: barware with your initial on them help you remember your name at the end of the night.

5 | I’m a little obsessed with 90% of the products by Gigi New York. Putting your initials on a bag does not mean you need to look like an L.L. Bean wielding soccer mom. (Unless you’re going for that look. In which case, more power to you.)

6 | On the off-chance I buy myself get flowers any time soon, I think I want to put them in a vase by The Office Chic. BRB I gotta order new business cards to put into this desk set.

7 | Earrings will always fit regardless of how much weight I gain or lose in a week, so I buy them a lot. To keep them organized, I need as many catchalls as possible.
