better late than never – that’s what i always say

Suffice it to say that I’m a little behind on my blogging, hence the Christmas photos just now going up. It seemed like John and I had more family in town than usual, which meant more gatherings and {fun} obligations. PLUS we had an extended trip to Central Oregon and just returned yesterday.

I should be talking about all of my New Year plans, hopes and dreams, but honestly I’m still trying to put away decorations and get organized. Maybe not the most refreshing way to start 2013…

{More on my 2013 thoughts soon}

These photos are from our annual Blodgett/Wadsworth family gift exchange, where historically the gist was to hand make a gift for your person. However, things have been slowly drifting in the direction of store bought. Creativity sometimes doesn’t flow as freely for everyone every year, so it’s nice to have a plan B if you didn’t have time to whittle a replica of the Mona Lisa. You laugh, but I bet someone in this family has attempted it, and perhaps even pulled it off. I’m only in my fourth year of this decades-old tradition, so I have missed a great deal of craftiness.

Man, do I have some talented and thoughtful in-laws though. Sadly, I didn’t get to snap photos of all the gifts because I was on baby duty, but take my word for it that they were pretty awesome. Quilts, hand-forged school bells, family heirlooms, the list goes on…

I also had the pleasure of taking the Wadsworth family photo this year, since it’s the first time they’ve all been home for the holidays in a while. Such a neat group – I wish you all lived closer

Time to scour the inner-depths of Pinterest to get inspiration for next year {maybe after the tree is out of the house first?}

P.S. Those breakfast burritos up there? So amazing. I think I had at least two. I vote we make that a new tradition.
