Ecila & the Dark Rabbit (Ch. 1)

Everything was so foggy. I couldn’t see past the white smoke that covered me. I could hear the others though, chuckling as they smothered themselves into the opaque fog. I was lifted, not caring about home or school or work, just feeling the white smoke fro everyone and let it grab me kiss me all over. “Dude. What time is it?” yelled my best friend as he popped my high bubble. In fact, he ruined everybody’s night by speaking up. “Rick buddy,” coughed my friend Derek “Where do you think you’re going?” “Where do you think?” Ricky shimmed from the grasp of a random stranger that he was so eagerly waiting to break free from. She whined in response. “Home. Ecila C’mon your mother will be frightened.”
“Who cares? My mother works at night now. She won’t even know I’m missing.” Ricky hovered above m, his face pushed through my smoke friend. His messy black hair slopped to one side and touched my face. His dorky glasses hung from his black T-shirt showing off his amazing dark colored eyes. I inhaled a puff and blew into his face. He hacked in disgust and I smiled. “Ecila. c’mon.” He whispered, sneaking glancing at the girl who I started to really notice. Her face was red with jealously. I smiled at her, giving the biggest grin. I had to admit, Ricky was good looking -really good looking- but he was just wasn’t my type and he knew that. “Yo Ecila just go!” snapped Rox, practically the group leader next to me. He tries to act tough but around me, he’s nothing but a puppy. He glared at Ricky then to me yet his expression changing rapidly. He whimpered in my direction. “We’ll see you later.” He shuddered. With the help of Ricky, I ascended from the floor like I was being lifted and glared deeply at him. It surprised me that only the random chick as well as myself could tolerate him even if the chick only wanted him for one thing that we both knew he was never going to give to her. “C’mon mom will kill me if I don’t come home how now.” whimpered Ricky from behind the white puffs. I lit a cig and exhaled puffs in front of me, blocking any vision from my friend. “Serious. I can’t be here any longer.” Not only myself but the rest of my crew sighed in grief as he continued to speak. “Ecila just go!” muttered Rox. His dirty blonde hair covered his eyes as he laid beside me. “Before I beat his ass.” No one liked Ricky. I knew that. Half of the time I didn’t too but he was a childhood friend of mine so I couldn’t fret with it. Instead I just glared at Rox as his blue eyes slowly appeared from his blanket of hair. His white smoke stopped midway and finished in the opposite direction of me. “Why don’t you go on yourself?” I breathed out. “My mother will worry even more. Ecila seriously you know how my mother is. If I leave myself then officers will take my place here.” Silence fell upon the foggy room. “Sweet!” yelled someone from across the room, his fist pumping the air. He was too high to understand what was going on. I rolled my eyes and grumbled. “Ecila…” whispered Ricky. He help me through the crowd of half past out teens left the building. “God seriously!” groaned Ricky when we were in his car. “I smell horrible.” “You smell fine.” I assured him. The smell was so common for me it didn’t even bother me anymore. “My mother is going to kill me.” I whined. “I highly doubt that.” I said looking into the mirror. My long light blue hair was messy and knotted in a few places. I put my hair in my ponytail as my dark gold eyes watched me. I had to admit. I looked horrible. “Your mother doesn’t seem like the murderous type.” Ricky glared at me. I gave a tired sarcastic grin in return. “Mind if I enter your place and shower? I bet I still have clothes there from last time. I can’t go home like this.” “Like it matters too me.” I mumbled.
It was a long silent car ride to my place. Ricky didn’t bother playing music as he knew it would mess with my mind at the moment. He knew I didn’t want to go home. It wasn’t because of my foster mother as she is never really around to even notice me but that fact that I had to live life again and I didn’t want that. But Ricky was persisted that I continue and so I murmured bad words in my mind for the rest of ride.
I could hear Ricky talking to his mother as always. “Yeah she is at home. Mom she is fine. I’m fine.” I didn’t know why she still was so nervous, knowing what I was doing now. His mother was more of a mother than my own foster mother. I sighed and flopped on my bed. What do I do now? I thought. As if an answer, a cold breeze brushed up against my bare shoulder. My room was heated from Ricky’s shower so I didn’t know what caused a breezed and so I ignored it. Thump… “Ricky?” I asked but he was no where around. The noise sounded as if it came from under my bed whist he was in the hall. I ignored it, thinking it was just my imagination when it happened again. Thump… Slowly I crawled to the edge of my bed and looked down underneath. Do I have mothers?Underneath my bed was small white rabbit. “What the-” I said. “Where did you come from, little guy?” The small bunny looked at me then hopped from under my bed and into pale hands. My eyes darted upwards to see a girl in my room. I stared at her. She stared at me. “Hello?” I whispered. The girl was tall, probably the same height as me with pale skin the color of paper and long hair to match that fell into two high pigtails. Her white dress matched her. Her black eyes just stared at me as she lifted the white bunny to the top of her head. “You’re running out of time.” she finally said. Her voice was like velvet. “Wh-wha? Who are you?” She didn’t answer. Instead she shook her head. “Ricky?” I screamed towards the door. I could hear him now. “No, mom, I didn’t get high.” “Ricky!” “Do I really have to answer that?” he muttered. I didn’t know if he was still on the phone or not but either way I didn’t like it. “God dammit, Ricky! Get your ass in here!” In a moment he barged in my room, eyes bewildered. “Yeah?” “Look-” I was about to point to the girl but she wasn’t around. “I-I thought I saw someone.” “Ecila, go to sleep. You’re hallucinating now.” “You’re probably right for once.” I said, crawling under my covers confused as hell. “Do you want me to stay? I can?” I shook my head. “I don’t want that.” I muttered. “I’ll see you on Monday then. Remember we still have school.” That was the last thing on my mind. “I’ll even call you tomorrow to remind you.” I nodded as my eye lids suddenly became heavy.
And they never opened the next day.
