Shade: 101 Blackest Black

What worked well: (Not much!)
1. The brush is very nice, it is bendy and it has these short bristles that really help you grab the curved lashes right from the roots.
2. The shade blackest black is very dark – true black & it does makes your lashes look longer and more defined.

What could be better: (A lot!)
1.Instead of volume, what you get is clumps when you apply the black mascara. It is odd that it claims to provide "amazing clump free definition" when all one gets is clumps from the very first application. I think the problem lies with the primer. You see, the primer is white in color. When you apply that you get these hideous white lashes. The black mascara doesn't coat the lashes throughly - maybe the formula is too thick or the brush doesn't pick up enough. God knows. So what you get is "Zebra" lashes - half white and half black. In order to salvage the situation, you go back in with the mascara formula that is not designed to layer well - Clumps Ahoy!

2. There are no directions on the pack whether one needs to wait for the primer to dry before you apply the mascara or if it is to be applied immediately.
3. This is not for office / day or natural looking lashes. The end result is not soft, pet-table lashes but intense dark, very obviously mascara-ed lashes.

4. Overpriced! I know of mascaras from Max Factor, Maybelline & Lakme that are much cheaper than this & work a lot better. Considering that you gotta "officially" throw away mascara in some 3 months of use, this is an expensive proposition. (And I use my mascara till it gets dry & clumpy, which is generally 6 to 8 months after first use)

5. Not waterproof.
Overall: I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Maybe it needs to be used in a particular way, and I am just ignorant about it. In any case the pack doesn't carry any instructions, so I assume that it was created to be dummy - proof (which means that dummies like me can use it without burning out grey cells). You get much better mascaras at 1/3 the price for eg, the Lakme Absolute Mascara which I adore to bits!

Have you tried this mascara? Any thoughts on how to make it work?
