Oh Hey Friday: Why I’m loving my 30’s so far.

Happy Friday! Welcome weekend! I’m so excited for this next week with my family visiting and getting to see my niece and nephew. We are going to Sea World on Sunday, have an engagement party for my other sister Saturday. We are going to be busy busy. So earlier today I was talking to my grandma on the phone and saying that 25 was the worst year ever for me. I had swine flu, my first ear infection and then that;s when my stroke happened it was a bad year. My grandma said her favorite year when she was younger was 28. I said I think 30 has been going really well so far. I’m almost 3 months into being 30 and I have no real complaints and these are my reasons I’m loving 30.

ONE: I feel like an adult. I got married at 19, started dating my husband at 14 and our daughter was born right before I was 22. So everything happened so young and then with stroke growing up and being an adult kind of stopped. I’m finally feeling like an adult and it;s such a nice feeling.

My word I was so young in these photos in order 19, 22, almost 23.

TWO: My health is the best it’s been in five years. It’s been a slow up hill battle to get to this point in my recovery and with my anniversary coming up I will post my story and progress in a few weeks but health is something not many people realize they should grateful for. I am so grateful for my health.

THREE: I’m becoming more and more comfortable with who I am and what I like and don’t like. I think as you get older you just start realizing that the opinions of others don’t matter as much as they once did. I like YA books and TV and I’m in my 30’s oh well who cares. I’m in love with Taylor Swift and think she’s amazing. I’ve discovered at 30 I get to like what I like and I don’t care what anyone else thinks.

FOUR: The last few months of blogging, probably the last 6 months has been so incredible for me. I have discovered this passion and confidence in blogging that I didn’t realize was lacking so much in my life but now that I’ve found it. My life is getting better and better everyday. I’m learning something new everyday and improving myself. I’m doing lots of free consults and booking some clients which is amazing. A year ago I wouldn’t have had the confidence to try these things but I do now and it feels wonderful.

FIVE: The family I’ve created. My marriage is strong, not perfect because what marriage is but we are happy after 10 years of marriage and 15 years together. So still being happy is a great thing. I’m also so blessed for my daughter and she is such a light in my life and growing up so fast. I am finally in the place where I feel that in the next two years our family will be ready to grow. That excites me and my confidence in knowing what is right for my life and journey tells me that even without the support of a lot of people (,,many family and friends don’t feel a second child is a good idea after a stroke, I have spoken to my doctors and know what’s best for me and my family) I use to feel so bad that people didn’t agree with my choices but the last few months has made me believe in myself so much more.

I’ve only been in my 30’s for just under 3 months so with a whole decade to go I’m so excited to see where this year and decade take me. How I will change ad grow and what life experiences I will go through.

So I want to know How old are you and what life lessons have you learned in your life that you would love to share.
