Saturday Top 5: Blushers

At that time of the week again where I share with you a top five of mine. Today is blushers.

I never used to be a fan of blushers. I used to own one and just use that with what ever make up look I did. I could never quite see the point in owning loads. That has changed though and now I can't stop buying myself more, as you might have seen in my January Haul this month.
I have chosen these based on how long they last, their pigmentation as well as packaging. Just how much I love them generally. So let's see what I chose.

5. Gentle by Mac

I originally reviewed this last year. It was actually my first ever post, which you can check out here. (Check out the bad photography and small photos. Ha. This is the only Mac blush that I own. I really do love Mac and I think this blusher is fantastic but they have so few mineralise blushes. The ones I have wanted have all been either discontinued or been part of a limited time run collection.

Gentle pretty much lives up to its name. It is a gentle purple with a very faint shimmer in it. I love how the product looks in it pot with all the different shades and tones.

This blusher lasts me all day and I don't ever feel the need to re apply which is fantastic. You don't need to apply lots either so I think this particular blush is going to last me a long, long time.

4. Sleek's Blush in their Contouring Palette

Now I know this isn't a blush by it's self but I had to include just because I use and love it so much. It annoying doesn't have a name as it is just called 'Blush' on the back so I think the only way of purchasing this blush is by getting this kit which you can read my review and more swatches on here.

This is a lovely peachy pink with gold shimmer but seems to show up more pink whilst in the palette. I am a big fan of Sleek make up and really believe they have made an amazing product with this one. (And only £10) I find myself using this as more of an evening blusher due to the vast amounts of shimmer it seems to create.

Such a pretty colour. I know this sounds weird but I don't like the smell of this product though. Smells of chalk. Not that the smell matters. Obviously.

3. Orgasm by Nars

I can see everyone rolling their eyes right now. Of course Orgasm is in my top 5. I am a huge fan of Nars (To be honest I could have quite happily had all of these as Nars!). Part of me was pondering over whether to have this in my top 5 or my newest addition Angelika also by Nars but I felt that it wuldn't really be fair as I haven't even owned that for a month.

This photo seems to show it as a lot more pink than it actually is. Orgasm is a bit deeper and a bit more purple toned. I really don't know what it is about this blush but it just seems to go with everything. There's also just the right amount of shimmer in it as well to make it look pretty but not enough to make you look like a walking disco ball.

For me, this is pretty much a blush lovers staple product. Plus, who wouldn't love a blush called Orgasm?

2. Hervana by Benefit

To begin with, this blush smells like heaven. If you can, and you don't own this product, go to a Benefit counter and smell this. That alone will make you want to buy Hervana. At first I thought the packaging was really cute, which is still is, but oh my the cardboard packaging is so annoying. It makes it really difficult to get to the actual blusher, which is the only thing that stopped this from being my number 1.

At the moment, this is the only blush I own that I have hit the pan on, as you can see. You can also see how well loved this product is by me.

When you swirl your blush around the box, it mixes all the colours together to make this lovely pink toned purple that gives you a really healthy colour.

1. You Are My Sunshine by Dainty Doll

If you read my post a little while back here you will have seen my review about this. I had never heard of Dainty Doll before, but for me, it is perfect because it's designed with pale skinned ladies in mind, which I am. The packaging is sleek and simple and feels like a high end branded product.

The actual blusher is a very close dupe to Nars 'Orgasm' but the reason this is number 1 and Nars isn't is because of not only the price (Dainty Doll Blushers are £16, Nars are £23), but the smell, the size, and the fact that You Are My Sunshine is more pink toned rather than purple. I feel pink suits my lighter skin, where as purple tends to wash out my face slightly.

This has the same amount of shimmer in it as the Nars one as well. So if you are looking for a close cheaper Orgasm Dupe, this is the one.

Let me know what Top 5 you would like to see next week.
