Happy Thanksgiving from a non-American

Happy Thanksgiving from this non-American girl! Well I have to say out of all the holidays I don’t celebrate but I still sort feel required to celebrate (because let’s face it, this somewhat, only somewhat, patriotic country makes it impossible for you NOT to engage, at least to some extent, on these days even if you really are a Swedish pacifist who realizes she better stay in bed on Veteran’s Day so she won’t accidentally say anything about war-participation that might offend anyone) . In between President’s Day, Rememberance Day, Memorial Day,Independence Day, Columbus Day, Veteran’s Day…and wow is there one day you don’t have anything to celebrate on in this land of the brave and free?! Anyway, in between all of these days, Thanksgiving Day is my favorite one to not-but-sort-of-still-celebrate. It reminds me of home and of nice things like family and Christmas dinners.

So Happy Thanksgiving! These photos are from Cold Springs, NY. And no I did not Photoshop myself into stock images of “Perfect Fall Day”. This is real.
