The Back.

Our time here began and ended outside. Our house was empty for a long time, not only of furniture but of memory making. The yard with squirrel filled walnut tree and neighborhood sounds was too inviting, and the late summer air too fresh and savory to avoid. My body was remembering the warm days and cool evenings of my childhood, where no one thinks of humidity or bug's biting. We knew the chill would come, and soon the rain, too. So there was no other option in our minds, really. But to be outside.

Now the chill is keeping us in longer in the morning, and our warm abode draws us back inside at the end of the day, too. So those first few weeks of Life on the Deck are a sweet memory- and we are looking forward to the colder months ahead, and all the coziness they bring. But there's always that knowing in our hearts that spring will come, and summer after, again.

Also, on a side note, that picture last of Rinah and Andrew is one of my new favorite photos of all time. Makes my heart pitter pat. Excuse me, I must go kiss that man.
