Bücher und anderes …

Wenn es um meinen Geburtstag geht, werde ich zum kleinen Kind. Ich liebe Geschenke und am liebsten solche, die mir lang gehegte Wünsche erfüllen. Dieses Jahr habe ich eine dicke fette Graphic Novel von lieben Freunden bekommen. Portugal von Cyril Pedrosa.

Der Comiczeichner Simon Muchat steckt in einer Schaffenskrise. Ihm ist jede Inspiration abhanden gekommen, und langsam aber sicher treibt er seine Freundin Claire mit seiner Lethargie zur Verzweiflung – bis eines Tages eine Einladung ins Haus flattert: eine Cousine in Portugal heiratet. Das Land seiner Vorfahren, das er seit Kindertagen nicht mehr besucht hat, rührt ihn eigentümlich an, hier entdeckt er einen Lebensstil, der ihn fasziniert, und findet die Quelle neuer Lebenslust.

The comic author Simon Muchat is suffering from a lack of creativity. He has no inspiration anymore and that affects his relation ship to his girl friend Claire. One day he gets an invitation: his cousin is going to be married in Portugal. Its the country of his ancestors which he hasn’t visited since the days of his childhood. When traveling to Portugal he finds a life style that is fascinating him and he finds a source for love of life.

Zwei Bücher habe ich mir selbst gegönnt – ist ja bald Weihnachten. Das eine ist “Reprobus” von Markus Färber und “Am falschen Ort” von Brecht Evens.
Beides wunderbar gezeichnete Bücher in die ich mich wohl sehr oft vertiefen werde. I got my self two books, too – after all, christmas is coming. One is “Retrobus” by Markus Färber and the other is “Am falschen Ort” by Brecht Evens. Both beautifuly made graphic novels which I will enjoy to delve into not only once.

Nächsten Samstag gibt es im Neurotitan die Vernissage zu einer Ausstellung, kuratiert vom famosen Jim Avignon. Schon der Flyer sieht viel versprechend aus. Jemand sagte mir – “… das wird bestimmt lustig!”. The coming satturday there is the opening of a group show at the Neurotitan named “happy hour at the hypnotist” which is curated by the amazing Jim Avignon. Already the flyer looks promising!
