Christopher Hitchens on the Importance of Free Expression
Although I enjoyed some of Christopher Hitchens' books, especially God Is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything
, I have only recently started watching videos of his various speeches and debates. As I do so, it is hitting me once again that we lost an important voice when he died in 2011.
Here he is explaining the importance of free expression and highlighting the interesting predicament in which we still find ourselves: some of those who commit hateful acts in the name of their religion are successfully suppressing criticism by labeling it "hate speech."

I hope that videos like this remain easily available and are often viewed. We certainly need more voices like this.
