Archer Avielle

One of Avielle's summer time hobbies was archery. Jenn and I introduced the idea at the beginning of the summer and Avie got really excited about it following the movie Brave (the popularity of archery has, no doubt, massively increased as the result of both Brave and The Hunger Games). It has been something that we can get her to practice a couple times a week and she has really improved. She hits her target near every time and hits a bulls-eye about one in ten. Every time she hits a bulls-eye we take a step farther from the target. It's quite exciting. Funny, when I bought her the archery set I thought about a Christmas Story when the dad finally gives Ralphie his dangerous, eye destroying gift of the Red Ryder BB gun, he gives the defense, "ah, I had one when I was a kid." The exact same defense I gave to myself when I finally ordered it.
