The Body Shop (Finally) Introduces Bath Bombs with New ‘Smoky Poppy’ Collection

Bath bombs are a pretty standard at-home pampering essential, correct? I think we can all agree on that. Typically inexpensive, soothing and let’s all just admit it—super fun to play with as it fizzes away. So, you would think that the hugely popular bath & body destination The Body Shop would have already had an abundant selection of bath bombs, right? Not until now.

Better late than never, The Body Shop is introducing Bath Bombs with their new, limited-edition Smoky Poppy Collection. The seductive scent infused with real, hand-picked poppy flowers from Turkey hits stores February 2015 (you can already see the collections online), just in time for Valentine’s Day. The entire range features The Body Shop’s signature products like Body Butter, Eau de Toilette and Shower Gel, as well as a few new additions like the Poppy Seed Scrub, Massage Oil and of course—Bath Bombs.

I love this scent. It’s on the same track as their recently-launched Red Musk fragrance, which was a huge change in direction for the brand (it was their first to have no floral notes at all). I think Red Musk is definitely preferable as a fragrance, while Smoky Poppy is great for spa-like pampering or getting in the mood for romance. Either way, I’m really loving this sophisticated and edgy new direction that The Body Shop is taking with these new launches (but don’t worry, there’s still some classic scents on the way that traditional The Body Shop fans will still love).

I enjoyed using the bath bombs—although be prepared to clean up the poppy seeds left behind (not as much of a pain as bath bombs that stain the tub… but it’s just something to keep in mind). One half-sphere is more than enough for a large soaker tub, so the tube of six bath bombs is actually a great value. I’m hoping The Body Shop will take note and launch some of their other signature scents in Bath Bomb form!

The Body Shop Smoky Poppy Bath Bombs ($20 for 6 bath bombs) are available online now and in stores February 2015.
