Weekly Must-Have: Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide

I’m a little bit afraid of foundation. It has always reminded me of that cakey, overly-made-up look that is the exact opposite of how I want to appear. I know that there are tons of amazing lightweight formulas, but I have always steered clear and stuck with my tried and true tinted moisturizer. Just the way my favorite pair of Rag & Bone Skinny Jeans have never failed me, my tinted moisturizer always gets the job done — evening out my skin tone and covering imperfections.

Little did I know how much I was missing out. Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide has quickly become my holy grail in my quest for flawless looking skin. After cleansing in the AM, I apply one to two pumps of Tata Harper Rebuilding Moisturizer ($100). After that settles for a bit, I shake four to five drops of the Flawless Fluide onto my Beauty Blender ($20) and apply to my face. To put it simply, this product covers what I want to cover without covering everything. That means that my skin looks even and poreless, but you can still see my freckles and the natural pink in my cheeks. My skin looks fresh, and can most importantly breathe throughout the day. It’s light as water, yet magically lasts all day long. Riddle me that.

One of the key things to know about this product is proper activation. You MUST shake it for at least 10 seconds and then tap a few times at the bottom of the package before using. Otherwise you will have a total mess on your hands. This only happened to me on the first use, and I quickly got the hang of it.

This star product comes in 24 different shades and is suitable for all skin types. I am combination-oily and prone to clogged pores, but have experienced zero irritation from Flawless Fluide. Remember that the coverage is buildable, so you can adjust your use depending on varying needs on different days.
