Mario Badescu Silver Powder
This is one of Mario Badescu’s best selling products and it took me a while to try it. At first, I was clueless about what type of product this is and why I’d need it in my skincare routine. After all, not many other skincare brands sell similar type of products. First, this is a product for those with large pores and blackheads. One problem with pore strips is that sometimes it has trouble pulling the impurities out of the pores. This powder draws out the impurities to the surface before the pore strip pulls them out.
It’s very easy to use. After cleansing your face, lightly dip a wet cotton ball inside the jar and apply the product onto your nose, forehead, and/chin. Make sure you don’t get too much powder on the wet cotton ball because otherwise it’ll form a paste and becomes hard to apply onto the skin, not to mention you’ll constantly see powder falling off your face after application. I recommend doing this whole process in front of the sink to minimize the mess. Let the powder sit there for about 5 minutes and then wash it off with water. You’ll see impurities coming closer to the surface of your pores. (Yes, it’s kind of gross but it means the powder is working.) Apply a pore strip as instructed and remove after 10 minutes.
A little goes a long way with this product. I suggest using a pore strip no more than once a week since it could potentially damage the skin.
