Trilogy Rosehip Oil review: Overnight wonder

I have been using Trilogy Rosehip Oil for over a year but have only just remembered to write about it because it’s recently proven to be such a skin saver. Even though I love this oil, I always find myself using previously discarded moisturisers just for variety. But then even after only a couple of nights of going back to rosehip oil, my skin just looks so much better.

Rosehip oil contains fatty acids, vitamin E and the antioxidant, lycopene, all known as healthy skin promoters. As well as improving skin moisture and softness, it is also touted as a wonder oil that can decrease the appearance of fine lines, scars, and stretchmarks.

Trilogy Rosehip Oil has a fine, lightweight consistency. It absorbs quickly and unless you apply more than a couple of drops to your face, it really doesn’t look too greasy. There isn’t a strong smell to the oil.. it’s perhaps very slightly nutty but it doesn’t leave any scent on the skin.

I use this oil as a night time moisturiser all over my face, including around my eyes. It really does seem to rejuvenate my skin overnight.. I definitely look less tired and grey in the morning after using it, and my skin seems more even-toned as well.

I occasionally apply the tiniest dab of rosehip oil under my day moisturiser, just on my cheeks, to boost moisture and to add a bit of a sheen.

It feels great to use this oil in the colder months when my skin is drier, but it’s also nice using it in the summer as well, knowing that it’s helping to repair my skin after any sun exposure.

The ingredients are just pure rosehip oil with no preservatives or fillers, which means skin can breathe because it’s not coated with cloggy stuff.

The only downside is that the product comes in a glass dropper bottle and I personally prefer a pump bottom for ease of use and to prevent the oil coming into contact with air as much. So I have a dark glass bottle with a “treatment” pump that I transfer the oil to.

Rosehip oil isn’t too expensive for a facial oil. It costs around £15 for 20ml or £28 for 45ml. Feelunique.com is usually a good bet for the lowest price online. It goes a long way as well. I find a larger bottle can last me several months.

I wholeheartedly recommend Trilogy Rosehip Oil for any skin type. It’s one of very few products I use at night that makes a difference by the morning.
