Battle of the Nivea deodorants
Stiekem heb ik sinds enkele weken een nieuwe favoriete deo, maar voordat ik die ontdekking deed (waarover later meer), stond Nivea met stip op nummer 1. En ja, ik heb een half arsenaal aan deodorant in mijn badkamerkast staan. Dus werd het tijd om er een heuse Nivea battle van te maken: alle exemplaren op een rijtje. Welke Nivea deo kan me bekoren? En welke zorgt voor witte strepen op mijn kleding?
Secretly, I have a new favourite deodorant since several weeks. Before I discovered my new baby (I’ll tell you more about it later), Nivea was my number 1. And yes, I have a dozen of deodorants in my bathroom cabinet. So it is the perfect time for a battle: all Nivea copies in a row. Which one do I love? And which one creates white stripes on my shirts?
Nivea Stress Protect roll-on – En ik die dacht dat ik een hekel had aan roll-on deodorants. Maar niets is minder waar: ik hou van dit flesje. Nadeel? het weegt veel en het potje is gemaakt uit glas. Met andere woorden: verre, tropische reizen zijn niet zo’n goed idee (en ik spreek uit ervaring). Voor thuisgebruik, dus. Over naar de werking: een 24-uren bescherming dankzij het zink complex (waar ik trouwens niet 100% achtersta), dat niet alleen vieze geurtjes geen kans geeft, maar ook een antitranspirante werking heeft. En raar maar waar: op die momenten dat stress de bovenhand neemt, lijkt het alsof deze deo in actie schiet. Ik gok dat de deo niet beter is dan die van de concurrent tijdens een stressvolle dag van 12 uur, maar wel bij die kleine activiteiten waar je hart eventjes sneller van gaat kloppen.
Nivea Stress Protect roll-on – And I thought I hated roll-on deodorants. But boy, was I wrong: I love this bottle. Disadvantage? It weighs a lot and the jar is made of glass. In other words: long tropical trips are not a good idea (I speak from experience). Use this roll-on at home, and (almost) nothing can happen. About the efficiency: a 24-hour protection thanks to the zinc complex (I do not agree with this ingredient 100%), which means: bye bye smelly armpits and transpiration. And it’s strange but true: in those moments that stress takes the upper hand, it seems like this deodorant starts working. I guess the deodorant is no better than the competition during a stressful 12-hour-day, but it is a unique bottle during this small activities that make your heart beat faster…
Nivea Stress Protect spray – Dezelfde werking als de roll-on variant, maar dan in een spray-vorm. Logisch. Aangezien ik een boontje heb ontwikkeld voor de vorige deo, krijgt deze één sterretje minder.
Nivea Stress Protect spray – The same effect as the roll-on one, but in a spray form (makes sense, right?). Since I have developed a soft spot for the last one, this one receives 4 stars.
Nivea Pearl & Beauty spray – Parelextracten. Met dat woord alleen trek je me over de streep. Standaard deo, niets meer en niets minder. Wel opletten voor witte strepen op zwarte kleding; goed laten opdrogen is de boodschap.
Nivea Pearl & Beauty spray – Pearl extracts. Those two words are enough to persuade me. The effect is okay, nothing more and nothing less. You do have to watch out for white stripes on black tops though; make sure you let the deodorant dry for a longer period.
Nivea Satin Sensation spray – Dit is een moeilijke. Je huid voelt inderdaad satijnzacht aan na het aanbrengen (hallo kaolien mineraal!), maar er is ook een reëel gevaar voor witte strepen. Eigenlijk is deze deo vergelijkbaar met de Pearl & Beauty, hoewel ik Satin Sensation net dat beetje aangenamer lijk te vinden.
Nivea Satin Sensation spray (Powder Touch) - This is a tough one. Your skin actually feels satiny after application (hello kaolin mineral!), but be aware of white stripes. Actually, this deo is quite similar to the Pearl & Beauty, although I love the Satin Sensation a little bit more.
Nivea Invisible spray – Vreselijk irritant is het: witte deo-strepen op zwarte kleding. Deze variant doet een grote belofte: vaarwel strepen en gele vlekken. Het resultaat: inderdaad geen witte strepen en minder gele vlekken, maar je moet hem lang laten opdrogen. Doe je dat niet, dan heeft deze deo geen enkele meerwaarde. Of ik de Invisible spray opnieuw zou aankopen? Nope, ik ga voor de Stress Protect roll-on!
Nivea Invisible spray – Very annoying it is: white deodorant marks on black clothes. This variant claims that you can say goodbye to stripes and yellow spots. The result is remarkable indeed: less white and yellow spots. But there is always a but: you have to let it dry for a longer period of time. If you do not do this, this deodorant has no value. Would I repurchase the Invisible spray? Nope, I’m going for the Stress Protect Roll-on!
