FAMILY PORTRAIT: THE DEANS

“Blessings and love” from the Deans! Alicia Keys recently shared a portrait of her family that featured the newest member of the family front-and-center.

Alicia held her newborn son in her arms as the other men of the family crowded around. The proud mother looked lovingly upon little Genesis as he gave the camera all of his attention. Egypt was also focused on the photographer as he looked at the lens and smiled for the picture. Little Kasseem and Swizz were fully aware of the camera but couldn’t take their eyes off Genesis. How cute!

Alicia and Swizz welcomed their second son into the world on December 27, 2014. Genesis was born a healthy 6 lbs., 5 oz., and arrived just in time for New Year’s Day. “The joy of joy is joy!! It’s a boy,” exclaimed Swizz and Alicia on Instagram shortly after their son’s arrival.

Doctors speculated that Alicia would deliver on the last day of the year. “They tell me December 31st. I think that’s kind of cute,” said Keys during an interview on ‘The View’ before giving birth. The singer also discussed parenthood telling the co-hosts, “Being a mother has definitely given me more of a fierceness and understanding of what I believe in.”

Genesis is Swizz and Alicia’s second child together. Swizz Beatz has five kids in all.
