REVIEW: Body Jewellery

A couple weeks ago himself and I made a trip to Westfield, when staying at his it is only a short drive to Stratford which is handy. It seems that no matter what day you go there it is packed with people – I do not know whether there is a great population of people out of work but it is always PACKED!

Anyway I digress!

Whilst ambling around we came across a stall that sells body jewellery, a quick glance here and there and I managed to find a few pieces that I liked. We decided to get the items on our list before buying anything else as money is tight at the moment and we are saving. Frugal caps on and we powered through the list in almost under an hour (very proud of myself!) – on the way back to the car we had quite a bit of money left over thanks to numerous bargains so himself treated me to some new bits. Check out what I got.

As most of you may notice I love a bit of pink so this is a perfect choice as with the black it goes unnoticed when I am at work. I have put this bar in for the moment as the plastic is a lot softer for the teeth (i’m a grinder – it is irritating even for me). The one problem I had at the start was that the ball kept coming loose – this problem was easily solved firstly by himself tightening the ball then using a pair of plyers for a firmer grip. Slightly irritating that it came to that as I almost swallowed the ball but the problem is now fixed.

The two glittery numbered were chosen from a selection whittled down by me but the final decision made by himself. Being a West Ham United fan these were the closest colours to his team strip that he could find – thankfully I can’t wear them together and one can technically represent Chelsea! Also the choice on the right being more on the pink side is just a result!

One gripe that I have with both glitter balls is that they have a sharp edge where they screw in and it irritates the tongue therefore only allowing me to wear the bars for a short amount of time.

These bad boys have two separate purposes. The hoop on the left is much smaller I don’t think the picture does it justice but it is TINY – this hoop will be used on my Helix (top ear) piercing. The other hoop which is larger in comparison but still quite thin will be for my belly button.

The larger of the two has been problem free however the smaller has been a pain in the backside. Firstly it was difficult to put on and the place that we bought it from will not assist you in application of body jewellery as they do not have the correct equipment which is fair enough. So between the two of us we managed to get the smaller hoop in and the balls screwed on but two nights in a row we found balls in the bed in the morning. Not great. As it stands there are no balls attached to the ring as they went missing some time ago. Sad times for the small hoop – I will buy another one but bigger this time.

When looking at piercings it always makes me want to get my nose pierced and another part of my ear but then I think about it again and seem to lose the will. Obviously I am not ready for another piercing yet as I would get it done straight away but these things need serious deliberation.

For the moment my mind is on a new tattoo . . .
