Because the month of December was so incredibly busy with family and work activities in addition to that major holiday, I really lost sight of taking time for me. It’s hard to realize, particularly when you’re a people pleaser, that it’s important to take time for you. That it’s not selfish at all. This year I plan to renew my state of mind and take time for me at least once a week.
Achieve silence. After the kids are in bed, shut down the computer, turn off the phones and television.
Sit & soak. First things first, fill up the tub with copious amounts of bubbles all obnoxious-like and sink in. Cucumbers on the eyes, aromatherapy candles burning, all enveloped in the warmth of the water.
Specialty skincare. I always use skincare, but more often than I care to admit I rush through my routine and likely don’t apply the products efficiently. Wrapped in a big fluffy robe my focus is treating my 34-year-old skin to the care it deserves with philosophy renewed hope in a jar ($47 for 2oz). This is an all-day, lightweight skin renewing moisturizer featuring clinically proven non-stop renewal technology. Right on point with my frame of mind this refines the texture of the skin making pores and fine lines visibly smaller and eventually renewed. After application, it’s instant skin gratification. Soft, smooth and dewy skin that has direct and all-day hydration. My skin is re-energized with a healthy color and glow that lasts up to 3x longer. It also doesn’t hurt that the scent is that of soft petals which immediately relaxes me and makes me smile.
Maintain silence. When it’s all said and done and I’m feeling great, why would I turn on the TV before bed? I’ll be curling up with a good book until I drift off into what will hopefully be an uninterrupted night’s sleep.
